The featured bird for June 2023 is the Brown Pelican.
Pelicans will dive from 10 meters up in the air into the water with their bill open to catch fish. The bill and expandable pouch then fill with water and fish. The pelican lets the water flow back out, leaving just the fish in the pouch ready be swallowed.
